Who We Are

DOSJFM = Diocese of Orange San Jose Filipino Ministry, or SJFM for short. A part of the Ethnic Ministries in the Diocese of Orange, we were established to help deepen the faith and promote the spiritual growth of Filipinos and Filipino-Americans; provide resources that will enrich our faith and culture; and reach out to all to be more actively involved in the Church.

SJFM is an organization of volunteers from various parishes of the diocese. It is spearheaded by Alagad ni Maria (A.M.), a Philippine-based religious congregation founded in 1990 by the late Carmelite Bishop Julio Xavier Labayen (https://alagadnimaria.org/). Five AM clergy are currently the school chaplains of CalState Fullerton, Mater Dei High School, Rosary Academy and associate pastors of St Irenaeus Church and St Pius Church. Their congregation also runs parishes in New York and New Jersey. Thanks to the charism of working for the youth of the AM congregation, the SJFM can lean on their decades of experience in guiding and putting together various programs from which Filipino and Filipino-American youth and adults alike can benefit from.

Our Mission

To help deepen our faith, promote spiritual growth and help enrich the faith, culture and traditions of Filipinos and Filipino-Americans in the Diocese of Orange by reaching out to the community in the service of the Church.
